Season 6 outlander episodes8/9/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() It’s a bit of a nothing scene, or it would be if it didn’t serve two distinct purposes: showing us that Richard Brown (Chris Larkin), that awful Lionel’s brother, is still around sneering and being generally The Worst and also showing that Allan seems to have sticky fingers. It’s hard to say what Roger is up to these days, though he is the one who welcomes Christie to Fraser’s Ridge since Jamie and Claire are out running errands when his camp arrives.Īt one point, Young Ian (John Bell) decides to take Allan hunting and notices and admires his gun powder horn. Brianna has been working on her designs here and there but given what happened to her mother for being “ahead of her time,” she’s a bit hesitant to publicise it much. Now seems as good a time as any to mention that Roger (Richard Rankin) and Brianna (Sophie Skelton) are still around, though there’s only a quick glimpse of Jemmy in this episode. Their mother is dead, and while the reason is never discussed explicitly, anyone who’s read the books will know that she was hanged for the murder of Christie’s brother, Edgar. He’s brought his two children, Malva (Jessica Reynolds) and Allan (Alexander Vlahos) (who are more like young adults really), along with him. Jamie apparently sent out a very talked-about invite for anyone from his Ardsmuir days to come and join him in settling in Fraser’s Ridge and Christie decided to take him up on the offer. It’s only Thomas Christie come to find Jamie in Fraser’s Ridge! It soon becomes clear why we started the episode with the Ardsmuir flashback. Throughout the episode, Jamie expresses concern for Claire’s emotional wellbeing since her kidnapping. There’s a whole group of men there who fought but failed against the English, but there’s a divide even among these men as some are Catholics and others are Protestants. The first 20 or so minutes of the episode take us back 20 years to 1753 when Jamie has just arrived at Ardsmuir prison following the Jacobite uprising. Given the way the “Echoes” kicks off, that certainly seems to be the case. However, Fraser’s Ridge and the territory at large is on the brink of revolution, so it was clear back in the Season 5 finale that safety and relative peace was short-lived. New episodes will premiere weekly at 7pm On Demand and available to watch at 9pm every Monday on Fox One.Ĭlaire had thankfully survived a brutal kidnap and rape from Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) and his crew and was safe – at least for the moment – back in Jamie’s arms. Two years later, season 6 is finally upon us, airing on Foxtel. ![]() When last we left Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) in the 18th century at the end of Outlander Season 5, things were in a rather precarious state. ![]()
